Nowadays, there are appearing more and more functions and jobs nobody has heard about before.

According to expert opinions, the joy and satisfaction you can get from your business depend on the three key things. To find your dream job, you need to know your dream at least. So, the first key is your own wish. You need to understand your goals, to determine your short-term and long-term tasks. It is never too late to listen to yourself and to decide what you actually want to get from the world.

The second key implies your knowledge and skills. The wish is a dream, a fantasy, while skills are something real (“What do I really do well?”). No matter how confident, experienced, and cool you are, specialists don’t recommend you cultivating the view of an almighty worker: everyone has things to learn. When improving your skills, you increase your expertise. As a result, your personal value for your potential employers grows.

And, finally, the third key is circumstances. Even if you are ready to change your main business and you know what you would like to go in for in the future, estimate your current possibilities. For instance, if there are important exams awaiting you in 6 months, if you feel stressed and get sick because of it, you should devote your time to get prepared for those exams well. The position “Money is not important for me at all” can be an illusion too. To make a living, one needs to get out of the bed. And what keeps a person laying on that bed can be different: fear of unsuccess coming from their childhood, for instance. And not pathological laziness and irresponsibility attributed to them by parents.

Psychologists conducted many studies in order to find out what is the most powerful thing motivating people to work. In one study participants received cards with letters and had to join similar ones in pairs. The first group gave the signed papers to a manager who had to look them through and put into a folder. The second group shouldn’t sign their papers, and managers just collected them without even paying attention. Managers of the third group threw participants’ papers into shredder at once.

According to the rules of an experiment, participants were paid less for every new task. But those from the second and the third group demanded to double their payment as a result. The participants from the first group didn’t ask for an extra payment: they were satisfied that their papers were not ignored and eliminated.

Still, according to the statistics, most of employees consider a salary to be their main motivator. And it can be understood why people hesitate before quitting their job that is stable enough, though it may not provide high salaries. Loan dependence is one of effective instruments that make people keep up with their current jobs. Many work to pay debts for goods they already bought and feel psychological fear before uncertainty. People naturally fear to make themselves and their families live without even a slight financial stability.

If you have no funds to pay bills for house rent, you have practically no choice. Maslow pyramid always works: you need to satisfy your basic needs first of all. If the financial question is not dominating, and circumstances allow people to risk, then there is a possibility for them to change a hated but stable job to a favorite but not that profitable business.

Experts set Google, Facebook, Apple founders or people like Quentin Tarantino as examples. Tarantino worked at a video store and then just filmed “Pulp Fiction” movie. He just wanted to create that tape, he never dreamed about millions. They just came together with popularity and fame.

Passionate people giving up their souls and believing in what they do often achieve success and get money despite the fact they never thought about them as about goals.

Incomes and Requests Grow

Another popular request in Google is “Why is there always no money?”. Possibly, not only those who choose jobs and callings because of salaries think on it. Bigger incomes always present greater possibilities, and make job motivation grow for some time too. Student Wants More

But it is important to keep in mind that people adapt to any positive changes quickly (including financial ones). Their wish lists become longer as their salaries grow, and the number of their wishes does not always correlate with their new needs.

The research of American psychologists from the University of Illinois confirms that higher level of income can really make a person feel happier if the number of their wishes and needs doesn’t grow even faster than incomes. But that is quite possible to happen in the modern society of consumption.

Modern culture exists to make people get satisfaction in exchange for the money they spend quickly. Advertisements form their way of life, influence their dreams, and cause a certain type of dependence that way. It is critical for people to be able to get out of those emotional traps and to regulate their consuming behavior more carefully.

Experts explain people’s will to gain certain things with the help of real-life examples: a person does not know what he or she wants for sure, but they see something gained by their friends or other people, and then run to buy it without even thinking about their own needs and about required funds.

That’s why we should be able to distinguish things: yes, some people can afford to have that thing, but what do you have in common with that?

Another reason for impulsive purchases that don’t correlate with a person’s financial situation is low self-esteem. There appears an illusion telling that if he or she would own something expensive, there could be more status and respect for them.

Many people lack the skill of budget planning. In this case, having a goal that needs you to save some money can discipline you effectively. As a rule, it seems that money just appear on their own if you save them for things you really need.

Experts have a theory which divides people into three categories:

  • Those with the psychology of “poor” people: they have objective financial wealth, but still feel that it was a random luck, and everything is going to end soon;

  • Those who think as “millionaires”: they are sure about difficulties to be temporary, even if suffering total bankruptcy;

  • And those who think as “middle class”: yes, they lack money for luxury, but they have everything they need and can enjoy their life.

 

The main thing for you is to find yourself and your calling. The job of dream comes along with that!
